Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Volunteer Alberta works to create a strong, engaged, and connected province by strengthening our nonprofit sector. We provide resources, workshops, and funding for nonprofits to improve and strengthen the work they do in their communities. The Youth at the Table initiative is particular has been launched to make our sector's governance structures more inclusive of young people (ages 18-30), especially youth from marginalized communities. We are aiming to give these young people positions on nonprofit boards and decision-making bodies - moving them up from simply being volunteers to leaders in the sector.
